We have just returned from an amazing conference in Nashville, Tennessee with about 7,000 other Christian Counselors, Pastors, and Lay People. We were all there to become better equipped to minister to those in our areas of influence. A funny thing happens when that many like-minded, Christian people get together; you get ministered to as well. This trip, I was ministered to through a song.

There was a concert the first night by Jeremy Camp. David and I went because, well it was Jeremy Camp and music speaks to the soul. I feel like a sermon or prayer of powerful, life changing magnitude can be contained in a song. He began to sing a song that as I let my self sink deep into worship, spoke deeply to my heart. The song was, He Knows. Here are some of the lyrics:

All the bitter weary ways; Endless striving day by day
You barely have the strength to pray in the valley low
And how hard your fight has been, How deep the pain within
Wounds that no one else has seen; hurts too much to show
All the doubt you’re standing in between and all the weight that brings you to your knees
He knows, He knows
Every hurt and every sting, He has walked through suffering
He knows, He knows
Let your burdens come undone; Lift your eyes up to the one
Who knows
We may faint and we may sink; Feel the pain and near the brink
But the dark begins to shrink when you find the one who knows…
Many people that are living for Christ, many who are serving God in ministry of all kinds, can relate to this song. I am talking to the Pastors and  Leaders, as well as the single moms, and the hard-working men out there trying to make a difference in this world. We take a beating, emotionally and spiritually, and no one fully knows our struggles.
We try to show the love of Christ to the lost and are made fun of. He knows. We love the unlovable and are called hypocrites. He knows. We pray and cry out to God for those that hate us and persecute us. He knows. We give because Christ gave and we are taken advantage of. He knows. We speak truth in love and are called liars and intolerant. Trust me, He knows.
Today, I want to encourage you the way my precious Jesus encouraged me through this song. You are not alone. You are loved beyond measure by a perfectly holy God that holds nothing good back from His children. Accept the perfect love of Jesus today. Run to His arms and let go of your silent pain. He has suffered, been betrayed, lied about, talked about, spit upon, shamed, and was crucified for sins He never committed. If there is anyone that understands where you are and how you feel, trust me, He knows.

Amen! If anyone could ever understand how we feel when the world chews us up and spits us out it is our sweet Savior. HE KNOWS!
